Michelle Marino Weatherwax
May 24
Weatherwax, Michele (Marino) VALLEY FALLS, N.Y.
After a courageous battle, Michele passed peacefully on May 21, 2009 to join her mother Janine in walking with the angels. Born and raised in Bethpage, Long Island, in a house on the ocean, she moved to Valley Falls as a young woman and graduated from Hoosic Valley High School. For many years, Michele was employed at VanRensselaer Manor where she met Dave and they were married in 1989. After their marriage and the birth of Emily, she was later employed at the Times Union. She was a communicant of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Schaghticoke. Michele’s greatest joy in life was raising Emily and cherished each day with her. She also loved creating remarkable meals for anyone who walked in her door and talking about the latest Food Network episodes and recipes; she also loved the Maine coast and spending time there with her family. Michele always maintained a quick wit and contagious laughter and she treasured time spent with family and friends until the end of her journey. In addition to their daughter Emily, Michele is survived by her husband Dave; father, Michael Marino; brother, George Marino (Marie); brothers-in-law, Dennis (Melissa) and Dan (Cindy); mother-in-law, Pat; nieces, Amber, Shannon, Hannah, and Sadie; nephews, Christopher, Shawn, Sam, Josh, Connor, and Brady; aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and caretakers, Scott and Ellen Chandler; and many other treasured friends including her littlest friends, Emma, Ethan, Gabby, and Christian. Michele was predeceased by her loving mother, Janine. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation and thanks to the Rubin Dialysis Center, nurses on the 4th floor and the Hospice staff of Samaritan Hospital. At Michele’s request, there will be no funeral, but instead family and friends are invited to celebrate a Mass of Michele’s life at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church on Route 40 in Schaghticoke at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26 with a time of fellowship and memories to follow in the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144.
